Trego participated in the Bob Kuhn Classic in Hays on January 20 and 21.  Twenty-five schools from across Kansas attended, but Trego had three wrestlers medal.

Wrestling at 113, John Kuhn placed fourth.  In his first round, Kuhn pinned his McPherson opponent, Landon Crews, in just 1:27.  His winning streak continued in the quarter final where he won by a 12-8 decision over Kai Rhea from Haysville Campus.  Kuhn, however, lost to Drew Burgoon of Salina Central in a 2-18 major decision. Kuhn rebounded quickly from the loss and pinned his next opponent, Braydon Lemuz from Larned.  This put Kuhn in the third place match against Adam Whitson from Buhler who defeated Kuhn in a 19-5 major decision. Kuhn's season record is now 18-3.

Fellow senior wrestler, Tanner Lowry, also had a strong showing and took fifth in the 182 weight class.  Lowry pinned Cody Dollison of Russell in just a 1:03 in his first round.  He kept the theme going and pinned his next opponent, Garin Williams of Haysville Campus.  Unfortunately, Lowry lost the semifinal by tech fall to Jesse Nunez of Garden City.  During the next match, Lowry faced Justin Lamatsch of Pratt who won by a 9-14 decision.  This put Lowry in the fifth place match where he won by injury default over Bailey Yarborough of McPherson.

The final Trego wrestler to bring home a medal was Brady Mattke who placed sixth in the 285 weight class.  Like his two teammates, Mattke won his first match by pinning Ben Wallace of Ellis.  In the quarter final, Benny Hernandez from Garden City got the upper hand and pinned Mattke.  Mattke returned to pin Alex Patel of TMP in just 27 seconds.  Carrying this win with him, Mattke then defeated Jordan Beehler of Haysville Campus in a 14-8 decision.  Mattke's last two matches were tough ones as he fell to Landen Urban of Hoisington and Eathan Shackelford of Andale.

Junior, Hunter Folsom added team points by winning by decision over Dakota Mitchell of Haysville Campus. He lost by decision to Deriece Burse of Salina Central, won by fall over Ethan Curnutt, and lost by fall to Jacob Hunsperger.

Senior, Trevor DePriest also added team points. He lost by decision to Nickky O’ Neil of Kupaun, won by decision over Jake Schwein of Russell, and lost by a technical fall to Scott Radke from McPherson.

Blake Spencer lost by a technical fall to Donavan Hutchins of Haysville Campus and lost by another technical fall to Caleb East of Larned.

Dillon Dunn lost by fall to Zach Bowen of Haysville Campus and lost by fall to Ayston Perez of Ulysses.
