The Trego Lady Eagle’s volleyball team went to Oakley on October 22 to participate in the Sub-State Tournament.

Trego first played against Oakley.  In the first set, the Lady Eagles lost a close game with a score of 20-25.  In the second set, the Plainsmen had the home court advantage and beat the Eagles with a score of 14-25.

The loss ended the Eagles’ season, but for two seniors, the memories will last a lifetime.

Cheyenne Nickelson reflected that it had been great to be a part of volleyball for all four years of her high school career.  "Sure we had our ups and downs with wins and losses, but we've always managed to stay together as a team." Nickelson continued, "I will always remember the good times we had as a team--all the laughs and fun moments.  Mostly, a positive memory was being able to play the sport I love."

Fellow senior teammate, Emily Buchholz also looked back on her volleyball career. “I have improved very much in the past four years, and I can credit all of that to being in weights all four years.”  Buchholz went on to say, “Volleyball is by far my favorite sport, and I will miss playing for the Eagles so much.”
