With the first meet already under its belt, the Trego Eagles track team looks to have a dominant season.

The team has 24 athletes: 15 girls and 9 boys. Adrianne Carr, Helen Giefer, TJ Hafliger, Emma Kostic, and Louise Lehy make up the five seniors on the team. Coach Pat Haxton, who has coached track for 27 years, stated that the team is going to push hard to get better every day and at every meet.

Adrianne Carr, a returning state placer, stated, “We have all given 100% every practice no matter what workout we had.

“Stay Committed! Talent will only get you so far.” This advice given to the younger athletes comes from Helen Giefer who is also a returning state champion.

Foreign exchange student, Emma Kostic said that the members of the team always encourage each other no matter if it is in practice or a meet.

The team has put in many hours in the weight room and on the track in preparation for the upcoming season, and their intention is to ascend to the top of the mountain.
