Track meets success at Victoria

The TCHS track travelled to Victoria on Thursday, May 3.

The girls returned home with a first place finish.

Earning ten team points, the girls’ 4x800 meter relay--consisting of Helen Giefer, Sybil Giefer, Adrianne Carr, and Libby Frost--crossed the line in first with a time of 10:20. In the 3200 meter run, Helen Giefer came in first with a time of 11:47; Sybil Giefer ran a 12:48 for second, and Leonie Leeb finished fifth with a time of 16:18. Helen Giefer also won the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:36, and Sybil Giefer finished third running a 6:06. In the 800 meter run, Helen Giefer won gold with a time of 2:33. Placing fourth, Libby Frost also ran the 800, finishing with a time of 2:43.

In the 4x400 meter relay, the girls finished in 4:35 for a gold medal. In the 400, Jenna Howard finished fifth with a 1:09, and Adrianne Carr finished sixth with a 1:10. Lili Shubert placed sixth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 29.05.

In the 100 hurdles, Shubert placed second with a 16.94. Emma Day also ran the hurdles and finished third, crossing the finish line in 17.43. Jessika Chapman finished in fifth with a 19.45. In the 300 hurdles, Shubert also placed second with a 53.04, Day placed third with a  53.24, and Chapman placed fifth with a 57.16. Shubert also brought home gold in pole vault with a vault of nine feet, and Day got bronze in high jump with a height of 4’6”.

The girls’ 4x100 meter relay, consisting of Leeb, Sina Litzuis, Gracie Pfannenstiel, and Chapman, crossed the finish line in fifth with a time of 58.43.

In the long jump, Leeb placed fifth with a jump of 13’10”, and Carr placed sixth with a jump of 13’1”.

The boys came home in third place.

The boys’ 4x800 meter relay placed second with a time of 9:30. Those who ran were Wyndom Giefer, Willy Barney, Colby Burkhart, and Keagan Shubert.

In the 1600 meter run, Wyndom Giefer placed first with a 5:04, and Bernard Giefer placed fourth with a 5:09. In the 3200, Wyndom Giefer placed first with a 10:59, Bernard Giefer placed second with an 11:02, and Willy Barney placed third with an 11:10.

In the 800, Shubert placed fifth with a time of 2:20. Shubert also placed second in javelin with a throw of 134’10”.

The boys’ 4x400 meter relay placed sixth with a time of 4:26.

The boys’ 4x100 meter relay placed third with a time of 46.57. In the 100, Dallas Schneider placed sixth with a time of 11.60. Schneider also ran the 200, running a time of 24.23 and placing sixth. Trevyne Brown placed fourth in the 200 with a time of 24.23.

In the 110 hurdles, Hunter Price placed first with a time of 16.03, and Cooper Desormiers placed second with a time of 17.02. Both ran the 300 hurdles where Price placed first with a time of 44.47, and Desormiers placed second with a time of 46.82.
