Trego Track takes on MCL

On Thursday, May 10, the Trego Track team participated in the Mid-Continent League Championships.

On the girl’s side, the 4X800m relay consisted of Helen Giefer, Sybil Giefer, Adrianne Carr, and Libby Frost and earned a second place finish in 10:37. In the women’s 100m hurdles, Lili Shubert achieved third place with a time of 17.81 seconds. Emma Day also participated in the hurdles finishing in fifth place with an overall time of 18.03. In the 1600m run, Helen Giefer pushed to a first place victory in 5:24. Her sister Sybil Giefer got fifth place with a time of 5:59. Placing fourth in the 300m hurdles, Day crossed the line in 53.32. Helen Giefer finished second in the 800m run with a time of 2:31. Trego showed their presence in the 3200m run with Helen Giefer finishing in first place with the clock reading 12:08, and Sybil Giefer crossing the line in second with 13:04. In the 4X400m relay, the girls finished in fifth place with a time of 4:33. The team finished in fourth with 69 points.

The boys finished in sixth with 57 points. In the 4X800m run, Bernard Giefer, Willy Barney, Colby Burkhart, and Keagan Shubert finished in sixth with a time of 9:36. The 110 hurdles had a second and fourth place finish with Hunter Price and Cooper Desormiers respectively. Price ran a 16.71, and Desormiers finished in 17.02. Dallas Schneider placed sixth in the 100m dash with a time of 11.46. In the 1600m run, Wyndom Giefer finished in third place with a time of 5:11. Bernard Giefer finished in fifth crossing the line in 5:14, and Willy Barney nosed out his competition to earn a sixth place finish and ended in 5:17. The 4X100m had a fifth place finish by the Trego boys in a time of 45.71. Trevyne Brown achieved a fifth place finish in 53.83. In the 300m hurdles, Hunter Price ran a 43.42 to earn him a third place finish.  In the 3200m run, Wyndom Giefer finished in first place with a time 11:00. Barney finished in fourth with a time of 11:19, and Bernard Giefer was close behind in fifth with 11:27.
