Tracksters bring home more medals

The TCHS track team competed at the Plainville Invitational on April 17.

The girls earned a third place finish as a team at the meet.

Helen Giefer took a first place in two events: the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:25 and the 3200 meter run with a resulting time of 11:41. She took second place in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:31. The girls’ 4x800 meter relay team earned second place with a time 10:57. Sybil Giefer placed second in the 3200 meter run with a time 13:03. Lili Shubert placed second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time 17.79. Emma Day placed third in the high jump with a jump 4-10.

Earning team points for the girls were the girls’ 4x400 meter relay team and Libby Frost.

The boys ended up with a fifth place finish as a team.

Hunter Price earned first place in two events; in the 110 meter hurdles with a time 16.66 and the 300 meter hurdles with a time 44.45. He also earned second place in triple jump with a jump of 40-08. Wyndom Giefer earned a first place finish in the 3200 meter run with a time 11:02. Cooper Desormiers placed third in the 110 meter hurdles with a time 17.75. Keagan Shubert placed third in javelin with a throw 145-10. The boys’ 4x800 meter relay team placed third with a time of 10:04.

Earning team points for the boys were Willy Barney, the 4x100 meter relay team, and the 4x400 meter relay team.
