Eagles out run, jump, and throw their competition

The Golden Eagles track team travel to Colby for the Triplains Invitational on April 10.

The girls’ team finished with a first place with 100 points. Several athletes placed in the top three positions.

Helen Giefer brought home two gold medals. In the 1600, she ran a time of 5:36. In the 3200, she ran a time of 11:30, her personal best and a new school record. Sybil Giefer followed Helen in the 1600 meter run coming in second with time of 6:07 and a second in the 3200 meter run with a time of 13:27.

Lili Shubert and Emma Day both placed in hurdles. Shubert took second in the 100 meter hurdles and Day finished first in the 300 meter hurdles. Shubert also brought home a silver medal in pole vault with a jump of eight feet.

Libby Frost brought home another first place for the Eagles in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:41.

Competing in the 4x800 relay race, Sybil Giefer, Sydney Boyle, Adrianne Carr, and Libby Frost took home a second place medal with a time of 11:23.

In the 4x400 relay race Adrianne Carr, Sydney Boyle, Lili Shubert, and Libby Frost crossed the finish line in third place with a time of 4:48.

The boys’ team took second place with scoring 98 points.

Those individuals placing in the top three of their events included Hunter Price who placed first in 110 meter hurdles with a time of 17:08, Cooper Desormiers also placed in the 110 meter hurdles finishing second with a time of 18:01. He also finished second in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 14:08. Trevyne Brown placed third in the 200 meter dash with a time of 00:25. Dallas Schneider dashed to third place in the 100 meter with 00:12; Keagan Shubert finished second in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:17. Wyndom Giefer placed third place in the 1600 meter run also took second in the 3200 meter run.

The 4x100 boys meter relay, run by Desormiers, Shubert, Brown, and Schneider, finished second.
