TCHS golfer named Regional Champ

Studying the slope of the green, Dalton Mai plans his best trajectory to get the ball in the cup at Regionals on May 14.

Junior Dalton Mai swung his way to Regional 2A champion and a trip to State at the Regional Meet in Oberlin on May 14. Mai had a personal record with 32 strokes on the front nine and 35 on the back for a total of 67 strokes. 

Weighing in on the day, Mai stated, “If you are going to PR, Regionals is a great place to do it.  It made the day even better.  I look forward to doing it again at State.”

The TCHS golf team also earned another trip to State after placing third as a team at the Regional Meet in Oberlin on May 14.  The team’s final score was 349 and the came in behind Plainville and Hoxie.

The team was made up of Mai, Carter Minson, who placed in the top 15 with 89 stokes; Joey Fry with 94 strokes; Dillon Dunn with 99 strokes; and Paige Post with 105.
