The Girls’ Trego tennis team traveled to Phillipsburg on September 5.

Number one singles player, Adrian Dietz, had a record of 1-2. She fell to her first opponent, Prewitt from Phillipsburg, 5-8. She also lost her second match 3-8 against Gordon from Phillipsburg . Finishing off the day strong, Dietz won her final match against Hays from Ellsworth, 8-2.

Number one doubles players, Madison Schoenthaler and Julian Coker, also had a record of 1-2. They fell to their first match against Phillipsburg, 1-8. They came back to win their second match against Norton, 8-5. However, they fell in their final match of the day, 1-8, to Ellsworth.

Number two singles player, Valerie Scott, lost her first and second matches 2-8 to Stapel from Phillipsburg, and 3-8 to Ewing from Phillipsburg. She bounced back in her final match of the day and beat Hawks from Ellsworth, 8-6. Scott finished the day with a popular record of 1-2 as well.

Number two doubles players, Codi Bliss and Cassidi Hickson, also went 1-2. They fell to their first match against Phillipsburg, 4-8. They then won their second match 8-3 against Norton. They fell to Ellsworth 3-8 in their final match of the day.

Trego tennis also played in Great Bend on September 9. This tournament was an eight team pool play.

Number one singles player, Adrian Dietz, had a 4-1 record. She won her first match against Great Bend, 6-3. She also won her second match against Ellinwood, 6-2. However, she fell to her third opponent, Garden City, 3-6. Dietz bounced back in her last two matches to win 6-1 and 6-2 against Hoisington and Ellinwood.

Number one doubles players, Madison Schoenthaler and Julian Coker, had a 0-5 record ending the day. They lost with scores of 1-6, 1-6, 0-6, 2-6 and 2-6.

Number two doubles players, Cassidi Hickson and Katelyn Cody, had a 1-4 record. They fell in their first match 1-6, against Great Bend. They then bounced back to win their second match in tiebreak, 7-5, against Ellinwood. They lost their final three matches, 2-6, 1-6, and in tie break.

Number two singles player, Cambrie Kemp, had a 0-5 record. She lost with scores of 0-6, 0-6, 0-6, 4-6, and 4-6.

The Trego tennis team will play at Colby on September 12.
