Dietz brings home gold

The girls’ Trego tennis team traveled to Colby for the Colby Invitational on September 11. The meet was exceptionally challenging for the team.  However, one player came home with a gold medal and one placed third.

Number one singles player Adrian Dietz ended the day with a 3-0 record and a first place medal. She beat her first opponent, Schroeder from Colby, 8-3. She also won her second match, 8-2, against Santos from Ulysses. Finishing the day strong, Dietz won her final match against Kraft from Colby.

Bringing home a third place medal was number two singles player Cambrie Kemp. She had a record of 1-2. She fell in her first match of the day to Colby,3-8, but bounced back in her next match with a win against Ulysses, 8-3.  However, she ended the day with a fall to Colby, 0-8.

Number one doubles players Hannah Kinderknecht and Julian Coker had a record of 0-3. They fell in their first match against Colby, 2-8. They also lost their second match against Ulysses, 1-8. Ending the day, they were defeated by Colby, 5-8.

Number two doubles players Paige Post and Desiree Littlechild also went 0-3. They fell to their first match against Colby, 4-8. Ulysses and Colby defeated the pair, 8-6.
