The Lady Eagles tennis team faced new obstacles on September 10.

Starting the day with a 4-3 record, number one singles player Adrian Dietz placed fourth. Her four wins were against Garden City, Ellinwood, and both Great Bend teams. Unfortunately, she fell to Liberal, Hoisington, and Dodge City.

Coach Lori Dietz commented on Dietz’s performance. “She started out strong in her first matches, and she was taking riskier shots to win the points.”

Number one doubles, Kacie Dunn and Valerie Scott, playing together for the first time, went 2-5. Their two wins were both 6-2 against Liberal and Great Bend. They lost to Ellinwood, Great Bend, Hoisington, Dodge City, and a tie breaker against Garden City.

Coach Dietz was content with her team.

“Dunn and Scott adjusted well to playing together for the first time. They both served and played the net well. I am proud of how coachable the girls were, and how they stepped up and played the positions needed for the team.”
