Trego tennis travels to Ellsworth

The girls’ Trego tennis team traveled to Ellsworth on August 28.

Number one singles player, Adrian Dietz, had a record of 3-1. She earned a 3rd place medal. In her first match Dietz competed against Clennan from Hutch-Trinity in a close match winning 8-6. In her second match she fell to Ryan, Central Plains, 0-8. She then played a really close match against Hays, Ellsworth, winning in a tie break, 8-7 (7-2).  Finishing off the day strong, Dietz won her final match against Clennan from Hutch-Trinity again, 8-5.

Number one doubles players, Hannah Kinderknecht and Julian Coker, had a record of 1-3. They fell to their first match against Ellsworth, 2-8. They came back to win their second match against Ellinwood, 8-6.They lost their third match against Lyons, 3-8. However, they fell in their final match of the day, 1-8, to Hutch-Trinity, placing 6th.

Number two singles player, Tillie Malinowsky, also had a record1-3. First, she fell to Bombardier, Concordia, 5-8. She bounced back and won her second match Tully, Ellsworth, 8-6. She lost her third match to Soukup, Ellsworth, 1-8. She ended the day with a loss to Concordia placing 6th.

Number two doubles players, Shaelyn Cleland and Gracie Hickson, had a record of 2-2. They won their first match against Lyons, 8-5. They then lost their second match 0-8 against Smoky Valley. In their third match they fell to Hutch-Trinity, 5-8. Their final match of the day, they beat Lyons again, 8-1, placing 5th.

The Lady Eagles Tennis team will host a JV tournament at home on September 6.
