Lady Eagles basketball season ends

On Tuesday, February 28, the Lady Eagles basketball team travelled to Hill City to play the sub-state game against the Hill City Ringnecks. The Lady Eagles kept up a good fight but could not take the win. The game ended with a score of 30-45.

In the first quarter, the team scored 12 points, keeping up well with the Ringnecks, who made 14 points. However, the Eagles fell back in the second quarter, only scoring four points to Hill City’s seven. The score at half-time read 16-21.

Struggling to come back in the third quarter, Trego failed to catch up to the Ringnecks by scoring four points. Hill City scored 15 points, making the score 20-36. In the last quarter, the Eagles made their comeback, outscoring Hill City 10-9. Nonetheless, this was not enough to take the win, as the final score was 30-45.

Gracie Pfannenstiel made an impressive 14 points for her team. The runner-up for scoring was Janae Huxman, who scored six points. Leading in rebounding, Libby Frost made 12 rebounds, followed by Emily Buchholz with seven.
