Girls place fifth at MCL

The Lady Eagles participated in the MCL basketball tournament January 15-20.

The girls’ basketball team started the tournament playing Stockton. They fought hard but came up short losing to Stockton with a final score of 37-62.

For their second game the Eagles played Plainville. The score was close but the Eagles came out victorious, winning 58-53.

On Saturday January 20 the Lady Eagles played Ellis for fifth place. Playing hard, the Eagles won 43-23.

Senior Janae Huxman looked back on the tournament saying, “I think it went very well compared to last year. We were ranked fifth and got fifth so that was accurate. We could have done better during the first round.”
