Lady Eagles work hard at Norton

On Tuesday, January 24, the Golden Eagles traveled to Norton to play the Norton Bluejays. The Lady Eagles put up a good fight but could not quite take the victory, ending the game with the score 36-49.

Trego kept the game close in the first quarter but ended slightly behind, scoring seven points to Norton’s 12. Once again taking seven points in the second quarter, the Eagles couldn’t keep up with the Bluejays, who gained 11. The score at halftime was 14-23.

In the third quarter, the Eagles got eight points to Norton’s 12, leaving the score at 22-35. Taking 14 points in the final quarter, Trego worked hard to match the Bluejays’ 14, but they could not take the lead, and the game ended with the final score of 36-49.

Senior Emily Bucholz commented on the ups and downs over the last few games.

“We have seen our potential to win games and just need to play hard every game.”

The highest scorer for Trego, Adell Riedel scored 14 points, followed by Emily Bucholz with 10. Leading in rebounds, Janae Huxman made eight total; four offensive rebounds and four defensive rebounds. Adell Riedel followed with seven rebounds.
