Lady Eagles defeated at home

On January 23, the Trego Lady Eagles took on Norton Lady Blue Jays at home. While the battle was close, Trego fell short at the buzzer by six points.

They started the first quarter trailing Norton by seven, with a score of 8-15. However, Trego played stronger in the second quarter only trailing Norton by two points, but Trego was still down at the half, 18-27.

Trego bounced back the third quarter, scoring double Norton’s eight points. During the fourth quarter, the Blue Jays regained momentum and outscored the Eagles 20-15. Unfortunately time ran out on the eagles, and the final score was 49-55.

Having a strong night, top scorer, Lili Shubert, scored 18 points. She was followed by Gracie Pfannenstiel, with nine points.

When asked about she helped the team stay focused Shubert said, “I try to keep my team focused by staying positive throughout the game, even if things are not going our way.”
