The Trego Lady Eagles struggled in their first game against the Dighton Hornets in Dighton on December 2. One of the battles the team faced was missing their only senior, Emily Buchholz, due to an injury.

Dighton started with a strong lead, scoring 32 points in the first quarter; however, Trego struggled to get any points on the board. The first quarter ended with the score 8-32.  The Eagles had better defense in the second quarter, giving the Hornets only twelve points. The score at half-time read 10-44.

In the third quarter, the Eagles scored six points, and the Hornets took 12. Trego excelled in the final quarter, scoring nine points while Dighton only scored 4. The final score was 25-61.

Freshmen Adell Riedel and Libby Frost stepped up scoring-wise. Riedel scored eight points total and Frost shot up six points. Frost stood out with her achievements of four offensive rebounds, two defensive rebounds, and two steals.  Janae Huxman also contributed to the team’s score of 25 with five points and two offensive rebounds.
