Lady Eagles falter but strive for improvement

The Trego Lady Eagles faced-off against Oakley at home on December 13.

In the first quarter, the Lady Eagles were behind 6-11. During the second quarter, the Eagles scored nine points, but Oakley put up 13 points, making the halftime score 15-24.

Oakley returned from halftime and dominated the scoreboard, scoring 17 points while holding the Eagles to four points. However, the game turned around in the fourth quarter with the Lady Eagles scoring 15 to Oakley’s eight. Unfortunately, this was not enough, and Oakley came out victorious with a final score of 34-49.

Adell Riedel made 15 points and also had the most rebounds and steals with three each.

Fellow freshman Libby Frost followed with 11 points.

Junior player Janae Huxman admitted that the team struggled with a “lack of energy and communication.” However, the team is working to improve these areas and Huxman stated, “We will get better.”
