Eagle football sustains losses at home

The Trego Eagles took losses in Friday night’s matchup against Hill City on September 7. The team ended the night unsuccessfully with an 18-48 loss. In addition, Trego lost its senior quarterback, Keagan Shubert, to an injury.

The Eagles came out strong in the first quarter with Dallas Schneider making the first touchdown in an 11 yard run. Hill City answered with a 16 yard run, making the first quarter score 6-6. However, the second quarter was ruled by the Ringnecks who made three touchdowns.  In the final seconds, Kobi Shubert got a pass to Hunter Price for a Trego touchdown.  The scoreboard read 12-24 as the teams left the field for halftime.

The Eagles returned from the half minus Keagan Shubert who sustained a bruised collarbone during the second quarter. The third quarter was unsuccessful for both teams with Hill City putting two points on the scoreboard. The fourth quarter was dominated by the Ringnecks with a score of 6-22.

Senior Dallas Schneider ended the night with 162 rushing yards and one touchdown.  Kobi Shubert ended the game with two touchdowns.

The Eagles will face Triplains/Brewster at their Homecoming at Custer Field on Friday, September 14.
