The Trego Golden Eagles continued to have a run of bad luck in their game against the Hoxie Indians at home on October 14. The loss dropped the Eagles to a 3-4 record.
Trego was unable to score in the first quarter. However, the Indians had a ten-yard run for the first touchdown of the game. Hoxie followed this with a two-point conversion, and the first quarter ended with a score of 0-8.
Trego then battled through a very tough second quarter unable to stop the Indians from scoring three touchdowns. The Eagles left the field with a score of 0-28.
The Eagles returned stronger during the second half. With a new boost of confidence, Keagan Shubert threw a seven-yard pass to Tate Pfannenstiel for a Golden Eagle touchdown, making the third quarter score 6-28.
The fourth quarter seemed to be a repeat of the third. The Eagles scored a touchdown with a ten- yard run by Hunter Folsom and held the Indians out of the end zone.
When the clock ran down, the score stood at Eagles, 12; Indians, 28.
The Trego Golden Eagles will travel to Rawlins County on October 21.
