Trego Cross Country fights hard at Ness City

In anticipation of the finish line, Cooper Desormiers fights to the end.

On September 28, the Trego Cross Country team traveled to Ness City to compete against 15 schools. Both the girls and boys teams capped of the day in second place.

The girls ran the course first. With the 2016 course record, Helen Giefer led the way winning with a time of 19:37. Sybil Giefer finished close behind, acquiring third place with a time of 21:33. Aleah Howard finished 15th with a time of 23:38.

For the rest of the girls’ team, Sydney Boyle crossed the line at 25:57. Gracie Hickson ended at 27:42.

Then it was the boys’ turn. Wyndom Giefer ran an 18:26 grabbing fourth place. Bernard Giefer held on for an 18:28 placing sixth. Willy Barney finished 11th and posted an impressive time of 18:49.

For the remainder of the team, Andrew Mejia ran a 22:41 closely followed by Cooper Desormiers, who ran a 22:58.

The Eagles will next run at Philipsburg on October 6.
