Tennis has solid start

The Trego Eagles boy tennis team started off their season by traveling to Hoisington on March 30.

#1 singles, Alex Haxton, brought home his first medal of the season, taking second place.  He started the day against Central Plains.  Unfortunately, he lost the match 4-7.  Haxton, determined to recover, faced off against Larned, winning 7-0. Not letting up, Haxton won against Hoisington with another clean sweep of 7-0. Keeping his momentum up, Haxton defeated Ellsworth with a score of 7-2.

Also bring home a medal was #2 singles, Ian Conness, who ended the meet in third. He started his day off with a win against Central Plains with a score of 7-1. Conness unfortunately fell to Larned and Hoisington in his next two matches. Intent on winning his last match of the day, Conness got a win against Ellsworth with a score of 7-3.

Austin Kinderknecht and Leyton Brock, #2 doubles, had a rough start, losing the first two matches against Central Plains and Larned.  Brock and Kinderknecht secured a win against Hoisington, scoring 7-3. Ending their day against Ellsworth, Kinderknecht and Brock were not able to snag a win, losing 2-7.

#1 doubles, Tate Pfannestiel and John Kuhn, had a tough day and were not able to get a win.
