Heartbreak for Trego

On Monday, February 25, the Eagles boys’ basketball team traveled to Leoti to face the Wichita county Indians for Substate.

In the first quarter, Trego kept the score close by putting up 11 points to the Indians’ 14. Unfortunately for the Eagles, the Indians were able to create a eight point lead by the end of the second quarter.

After half time, the Eagles appeared recharged and out-scored the Indians, 16-8, bringing the score to 35-35. The close battle continued throughout the final quarter, but at the final buzzer, the Eagles were down by two points. The Indians claimed a 46-44 victory.

The top scorer for the night was Keagan Shubert with 15 points. Teammate Hunter Price followed closely with 12 points.
