The Trego Junior and Senior High Schools sponsored the KAY Area IV Regional Conference on November 6.
The theme was “Hooked on Leadership.” Fishing poles, nets and other various fishing gear were used to decorate for the event.
The day’s activities included speeches and elections for the Area IV president and sponsor, officer’s networks, group mixer activities and a time for individual clubs to meet and brainstorm ideas.
Students also participated in Laugh, Love, and Lift sessions. These sessions included the Kansas Highway Patrol’s Trooper Travis Phillips; Big Brothers, Big Sisters; Kansas Youth Leadership Academy, Leadership and KAY, Leadership Is Real. Also, Theresa Clounch, the key-note speaker for the event, presented “Hook, Line and Sinker,” a speech which described the process of fostering leadership.
The Golden Girls provided entertainment, performing two numbers for the KAY members from around the area.
KAY hosts Regional Conference
Discussing his speech on seat belts, Trooper Travis Phillips and 8th grade KAY members take advantage of free time between events. Local KAY members hosted the Area IV Regional Conference on November 6.
