Scholars bowl begins for Trego

The Trego Junior Varsity scholars bowl team tries its best to answer as many questions as possible.

The Trego Eagles brought their knowledge to Ness City on October 23. Varsity and Junior Varsity both finished with a record of 3:2. Varsity took third and junior varsity took second.

The Eagles started the meet against Healy. JV lost with a score of 10-20. Next, they played Ellis. JV won 80-10.  JV secured a victory against Otis Bison with a score of 50-10. Then JV played Dighton and won with a score of 70-10. Finally, JV played Hodgeman and lost with a score of 30-60 giving them a 3:2 record and a second place medal.

Benjamin Anderson was the top scorer on the JV team with 15 questions answered correctly.

 

The JV team consisted of Benjamin Anderson, Austin Cramer, Aaron Windholz, Sydney Boyle, and Jericho Wagner.

Varsity won against Healy with a score of 60-10. Varsity lost to Ellis 30-50. They scored a victory against Otis Bison 50-20. Varsity played Lacrosse, but sadly lost 40-80. Finally, Varsity triumphed over Dighton and won a close match with a tie breaker answered by Ruchi Bhakta with a score of 60-50 giving them a record of 3:2 and a third place medal.

Brenna Flax was the top scorer of Varsity with a total of 10 answers correct.

Team members included, Valerie Scott, Ruchi Bhakta, Clay Burk, Kelby Aschenbrenner, and Brenna Flax.
