The TCHS forensics team started their season with a bang on January 26 in Colby.

Starting the year off strong, TCHS managed to qualify three individuals for state. In improvised duet acting, Gavin Garza and Emma Kostic brought home the gold. In serious solo, Gracie Hickson took first, and Emma Kostic earned second. Hickson also took first for her poetry piece. Not qualifying for state but bringing home a medal, Jessika Chapman and Isabel Escalante earned sixth in duet.

Coach Nan Brown could barely contain her excitement at the success of her students. “I am so proud of my team. They worked hard to be ready for their [first] meet.”

Garrett Kuhn attended as well, competing in poetry.

The TCHS forensics team will travel to Norton on February 2, hoping to send even more individuals to state.
